This year’s annual Ten-pin Bowling evening at Crawley saw Pat make his first appearance in three years – with a champion’s performance! His 156 was the single highest score of the evening and his combined 282 over two games beat second-placed Paul by a considerable margin. There were also centuries for Paul, Hilary, Charlotte, Kevin, Petra and Nick. But at a team level, Team Paul were victorious.
Perhaps the most astonishing part of the evening came at the very end when Mary – who hadn’t been one of the leading scorers – came to her final turn. A strike. And then another. As this earned her an extra ball, she couldn’t get a third…could she? Yes she could…and she did! A turkey, as it’s known. A little Irish jig was certainly in order (see photos!).
Many thanks to Paul for arranging another most enjoyable evening – and to all those who came along.
