Both Circles went in to the 2025 match with hopes of taking a 2-1 lead in this revived annual competition. A numerical mismatch (14 for East Grinstead and 18 for Tandridge) meant that using average scores was deemed to be the fairest way to determine the winners. On that basis Tandridge won narrowly with an average score of roughly 5.7 to 5.4. Two East Grinstead players managed 19 out of a possible 27, with Wladek probably taking the (theoretical) prize as best player by virtue of being the only East Grinstead player to score an 8 in any leg. It was another excellent evening and of course East Grinstead will seek revenge in 2026. Thanks to Tandridge for making the arrangements.
